Three kilometers outside Örebro city, a couple of turns from E18 and E20 lies Scandic Örebro Väst - a perfect starting point to explore the city's culture and entertainment. Our guests can feel at home in our restaurant Köksbaren, enjoy a drink at the bar, and relax on the sofa in front of the open fireplace.
We want to be the obvious hotel choice when visiting Örebro. We achieve this by having a strong service culture and a top-class hotel, but the most important part is the incredible work done by our employees. Therefore, we are keen to encourage each other daily and maintain a good atmosphere within the team.
We are looking for a head chef for Scandic Örebro Väst.
At Scandic, everyone works together to create a world-class guest experience throughout the guest's stay. As a head chef, you are the one who motivates, drives, develops, and engages everyone in the team to take significant personal responsibility for improving work methods and service as the world changes. We are convinced that it is when you get to develop and contribute all your skills that we exceed the guest's expectations, and we also have a lot of fun at work!
What does the role entail?
In this role as head chef, you are responsible for the kitchen, where you have the overall responsibility to ensure a world-class guest experience in our food and beverage environments. This means that together with your team, you ensure a high level of service, that central food and beverage concepts are quality assured, and an offering that meets the guests' needs. You lead and develop the operations and employees based on the company's strategy, goals, and local conditions. You have a passion for service, and through your leadership, you inspire and motivate your employees and create conditions for you to together create outstanding guest experiences. As a head chef, you are also part of the daily operations and are responsible for planning and staffing based on the needs of the business. You skillfully navigate between being in operations one day and working with kitchen economics and administration the next. You have a close collaboration with the restaurant manager, where both of you aim to see the whole picture, ensuring that all departments within F&B collaborate in the best way for the hotel.
You are part of the hotel's management team, which means that together with your colleagues, you have overall responsibility for the entire hotel.
Who are you?
You have a positive view of change and the ability to lead others through it, are flexible, and can easily see solutions and create relationships. You are a leader who sees it as natural to be present at different times and days and have a holistic perspective in everything you do. You recognize the value of collaboration, provide regular feedback, and are communicative in your leadership style. You plan your time and work purposefully towards short- and long-term goals. As a manager with us, you live by our leadership compass with Inspire, Collaborate, Build trust, and Empower as a natural part of your leadership. You embody our values and act as a role model in your position.
You have previous experience leading others in a similar role, as well as relevant education and experience in the service industry. You possess good administrative skills, experience in financial planning and follow-up, and are comfortable working with various support systems. Additionally, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
